The Issue

As a dedicated resident of Parkwood who genuinely cares about our youth and the sport with their interests in off-road riding, I've seen how crucial it is to have a designated space for these activities. A piece of land/area would not only provide an environment for young people to enjoy their passion but also promote their physical and mental well-being. Engaging in outdoor sports like this can and will be a better source of fitness and unlike any other sport it’s the most physically demanding, it reduces stress, and improves social skills + so much, it’s more beneficial than most other sports, just ask people who ride what they get from it it’s nothing but positive, all of which are vital for their development. Moreover, having a specific location for off-road vehicles would help maintain peace in our neighborhoods, preventing disturbances caused by riding in unauthorized areas like parks play areas and on roads.

Currently, the absence of such a space is a significant barrier for our enthusiastic youth and their supportive parents. Without a designated area to use off road bikes/vehicles, they face challenges in pursuing their interests, which could lead to frustration and potentially risky behavior as seen regularly with a group of youths riding on main roads.

Now is the time for us to take action. We need to come together as a community and advocate for the establishment of a local site for off-road riding. Our local council has a responsibility to support activities that enhance the lives of our young people. By uniting and signing this petition, we can bring attention to this important issue. Your signature will help us push for a solution that benefits everyone, creating a positive environment for our youth to thrive in their passion for off-road riding.

Currently, parents and youth feel unheard and are unable to pursue the sport they love due to a lack of legal riding spaces and land owners willingness. This situation has led to rebellious behavior with a number of youths, which poses risks not only to their safety but also to other road users. We find it concerning that while many are to busy complaining about this issue with off road bikes, few are willing to help resolve it. We firmly believe that if we can identify a suitable location for them to ride—whether for a small fee or free of charge—it would significantly reduce the need for police presence and call-outs related to noise and disturbances in public areas.

Our communities are being affected by this issue, as the noise and danger of bikes on playing fields create unease among residents. we can find space for the youth to ride pitbikes without the hassle and risks associated with riding on roads, ultimately putting an end to the community nuisances related to this problem.

We ask for your support in addressing this important issue. Driving on road with off road vehicles is illegal. Driving off road vehicles off road isn’t a crime it’s fun and is the correct way to be used for what the vehicle is made for but there is a lack of land / waste land or woodland that could be used for these activities, a small field or a large one it doesn’t matter it will make a huge difference on housing estates. off road riding is looked at as Antisocial behaviour because of the noise and a minority youths ride on roads, not everyone does it, there’s plenty of people that respect the road laws and it shouldn’t be ruined for the ones who do.

Every parent / rider understands the inherent risks, which is why there should be no liability for injuries sustained by riders. riders should be able sign a rules agreement on rideable land. Isn’t it sensible that riders should be required to share their vehicle VIN number with proof of address to help prevent stolen vehicles being used seems logical. Pitbike Riders should be able to ride an off road bike off road that’s what they are for, not the bigger bikes that’s for tracks, if they was allowed to ride within a duration in the day something realistic like 10am /4pm in a designated field or woodlands far away from housing estates would be a solution, a piece of open land that people can freely ride on where people can meet with friends but also make new friends with like minded people with the same interests also increasing socialisation outdoors within the sport, off road pitbike riding isn’t causing harm there’s more harm coming from people that can’t stand seeing people have fun, a lot of people don’t want to go to race tracks it’s a bit to much for some people especially the young or the new riders that lack the skills and just want a place to ride & learn.

Please share this wherever you can and help bring more places to ride. without the pathetic regulations that hinder people, off road is for off road vehicles but there needs to be fields or parts land you can freely ride on. let the youth be apart of what they enjoy outdoors engaging in this activity but obviously riders need land owners permission to ride.

sign this petition and support the youth/offroad riding by making the youth a priority and not a statistic and generally relax the use off road vehicles but in designated areas. If you are someone who can help by offering a private piece of land and come up with a agreement plan together please contact me at allocateland@gmail.com

Sincerely,
