Allocate 1% of U.S. Government Agencies' Budget to USICH for Homelessness Prevention

Allocate 1% of U.S. Government Agencies' Budget to USICH for Homelessness Prevention
The Issue
I, like many others, am deeply concerned about the increasing cost of living and the stagnant minimum wage in our country. It is a struggle for fully capable individuals to keep up with these costs, let alone those who are disabled, children without role models, families going through tough times or individuals who have experienced accidents or trauma that limit their ability to work.
It's time we address this issue head-on by urging each U.S. government agency to allocate 1% of their annual budget income towards the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH). The USICH has made a commitment to focus solely on ending and preventing homelessness - an initiative that is more important now than ever.
In addition to this allocation, it's crucial that we involve civilians in the decision-making process. I propose that 20% of USICH's budget be used on NEW programs and ideas aimed at ending homelessness yearly.
With these new programs, therapeutic & educational services would be implemented.
Instead of being focused simply on the physical aspects of necessities, we also need to feed the soul.
It is important to try and provide a whole-health wellness by utilizing "Maslow's Pyramid" and by learning from the mistakes of the past.
Lastly, our approach needs flexibility. We must consider these "outsiders" (aka homeless) may enjoy outdoor living, but still require basic services. These services should not come at outrageous prices.
By supporting this petition you're advocating for a more inclusive society where everyone has access to affordable living conditions regardless of their circumstances. This isn't just about providing temporary relief; it's about creating SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS for all Americans struggling with housing insecurity.
Please sign this petition today and help us take one step closer towards making affordable living accessible for all.
Thank you SO much! 🙏
