Say "No" to the Victorian Government Plan to Reintroduce Dingoes in ANY Park in Victoria.

The issue

Say "NO" to the Victorian Government Plan to Reintroduce Dingoes/Dingo Wild Dog Hybrids into ANY Parks in Victoria and to make them PROTECTED, cease lethal control of pests (baiting, trapping and shooting of predators) and cease the fox/wild dog bounty program. Dingoes would cause devastation to the state's million-dollar livestock and wool industry and be a threat to tourists (families and children) that visit parks and threaten existing smaller native animals. Ceasing lethal control of pests would mean that the pests numbers would increase rapidly and lead to more livestock/native animals being mauled or killed. The livestock and wool industry contribute to the state economy hugely by providing income for farmers and employment for stock & wool agents and wider rural communities. Tourism brings in millions of dollars to the Victorian economy and we are concerned for the safety of visitors to Parks, if dingoes are reintroduced. We implore the Victorian State Government and Parliament/all MPs not to implement the recommendations in the Report into Ecosystem Decline in Victoria, Recommendation 8, Section 106 & Recommendation 28, Section 264, which was tabled in the Vic. Parliament on 02/12/2021 and will be voted on in February or March 2022 (very soon). While John and Rhonda Crawford, of Rock-Bank Merino and Poll Merino Stud, Dunkeld (foothills of the Grampians) were successful in stopping dingoes being reintroduced into the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park by Parks Victoria in their 15 year Final Management Plan on 21/12/2021, by attracting over 4,300 signatures (online through Change.org and also on paper locally) and gaining media attention through paper, radio, tv and digital. The campaign now goes statewide, because of the aforementioned Report and the Committee's recommendations. The rural/regional Vic. communities were mostly unaware of this inquiry even occurring over the past 2 years. When they were alerted to this scary issue in early December 2021, they were deeply worried at what was recommended in the report. So, we urge you to sign this petition and support your fellow Victorians/Australians.
