Vote YES on the 3 WCTA Agenda Items
Vote YES on the 3 WCTA Agenda Items
The Issue
It's time to give Walton County residents and taxpayers more of a voice in the decisions made by the Walton County School Board.
On Tuesday, March 4, the Walton County School Board will vote on three important measures designed to increase citizen participation in the decision-making of the school board.
Sign this petition and encourage the board to:
- Allow the public to vote on an upcoming tax issue during the August election, not during a 'special election' when most people don't participate. Decisions about our taxes should be made by the voters at a time when most people can have their voices heard.
- Hold meetings at convenient times throughout the county, not just in DeFuniak Springs. It's time to encourage more public participation in board meetings.
- Let Walton County vote on whether or not to change the process by which the superintendent of schools is selected. It's time for Walton County to have a referendum about this issue and decide whether or not the superintendent should be appointed by the school board, or elected.
Together, we can encourage the Walton County School Board to give residents and citizens more of a say in the future of our schools and our community.
