All court proceedings shall be both audio and video recorded. All complaints against judges shall be open to the public. For transparency, the preservation of the record, checks and balances and review. Available to anyone for a minimal fee.

I've been involved in 2 court cases. In both cases there were things said that did not appear in the record. We need a check and balance for the record to ensure accuracy.

In one case the judge spoke about her observations of witnesses as part of her decision. A printed transcript in not sufficient for review when there are other things besides the words alone that judgements are based on.

Many decisions are handed down that have vague reasons, without explaining what backs up those reasons. By making both audio and video records and complaints open to public we can require judges to be more descriptive and detailed in their decisions. This will also vastly improve how complaints can be decided upon.

Judges are voted on by the public. The public therefore needs access to the information about how a judge handles cases so as to make an informed decision.

Audio and video recording coupled with the complaints offers a way to balance and verify each other. As court proceedings are open to the public and the public is the check and balance to government these shall be both open to the public. The jury is supposed to be designed to provide this but is unfortunately inadequate, as many people do not know the power and responsibilities and rights of jurors. And jurors are insufficient for perpetuation of the complete proceedings.

From what I've seen there are many complaints that don't even get looked at. That shall not be allowed to continue. Most of the complaints that are looked at give very little sanctions against judges who perform poorly. By keeping these from the public they are circumventing the constitutional idea of the people checking the government. This means essentially that democracy has been circumvented.

Now to the question of the masses and their biases, when we have this transparency, when a judge is not censured for something we also have the ability for them to clearly show why that is the case.
