Any 4x4 recovery involves significant forces, often lethal. Yet the gear used isn't often rated for any specific force, and when it is, the ratings are inconsistent between products, and there's no standardised tests. When you're rigging a recovery, it's really hard to figure out what gear is rated for what.

The simple solution; the manufacturers need to label their gear with the results of a consistent standard. That'll help make recoveries safer for us all, and make buying gear simpler.
