All Fast Food Restaurants: Stop Using Styrofoam Cups and Containers

The Issue

We get it. Styrofoam (or in actuality polystyrene) keeps those trashcan size drinks from dripping condensation all over your hands and cup holders, but it's really not worth it since Styrofoam/polystyrene takes hundreds of years to biodegrade. Yes, paper cups allow condensation to drip, and paper takeout boxes aren't as a good insulator compared to polystyrene, but our environment is at stake here, and that's definitely more important.

Not only is polystyrene filling up our landfills, when it does eventually biodegrade in a few hundred years, those gases and liquids that polystyrene will contaminate the Earth's soil and water. They're already contaminating the Earth's oceans with large debris fields.

So McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Sonic, Chick-Fil-A, or any other fast food restaurant or classic dining establishment, please stop using these containers that are making our world a less beautiful place
