The Issue

Two dogs were surrendered to NY ACC, Missy and Gotti, a Mother and Son Bonded Pair. Unfortunately, they were listed separately and Missy's dog listing thread had pledges that reached $2000 and Missy was pulled SEPARATELY and ripped apart from her son by All Breed Rescue Vermont Gotti was rescued by Heaven Can Wait Rescue but Gotti has declined into a deteriorating state of pneumonia and continues to be hospitalized with the fear that he will crash from the devastation of being separated from his Mother Missy. We are begging all entities in positions of authority to Petition All Breed Rescue Vermont to TRANSFER MISSY TO HEAVEN CAN WAIT RESCUE who does NOT care about any pledge funds - they only want this bonded pair reunited.

Jane Hoffman has stated that she believes that the rescues in the Mayor's Alliance are the most responsible rescues and are recipients of tens of thousands of grant dollars. Separating a bonded pair is NOT responsible rescue and we believe that it is completely reckless and behavior unbecoming of a Real No- Kill Rescue. The separation of the pair was carried out with depraved indifference as to the psychological well-being of these two precious babies, Missy and Gotti .

Please reunite Missy and Gotti by transferring Missy to Heaven Can Wait Rescue immediately so that Gotti may have a better chance at life. His life hangs in the balance and only his Mother by his side will save him!

All Breed Rescue has requested Change.org delete this petition. The petition is not based on facts and has led supporters to threaten, bully and harass both rescues. All Breed Rescue pulled Missy AFTER Gotti was pulled. We corresponded with Heaven Can Wait rescue on trying to keep Missy and Gotti together in foster, but there were no approved fosters able to take both dogs. That remains the case today. The pledges for Missy were significantly lower than the petition states. To date, ABR has received approximately $100 in pledges for her care. Gotti did succomb to pneumonia but has been treated and is now back in his foster home. Both rescues are providing loving, caring fosters for these dogs. It is extremely unfortunate that the facts were twisted in this petition to cause stress for the rescuers and the fosters that are saving lives.
