A number of Republican states are passing laws which would allow them to send their own slate of electors, instead of the ones that would follow the popular results and nominate a duly-elected President.

THIS IS LITERALLY THE END OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY!

Why have an election at all, when it could simply be overturned by the state legislators? And this is EXACTLY what would have happened in the 2020 election.

While there would normally be at least an arguable purpose for keeping the electoral college, Republicans have changed that argument. It is now no longer an option, if we want a President that is legitimately elected by the People!

This is a petition which would have a genuine chance to garner attention and have an impact, if enough people signed it. And the solution is direct.
