The Issue

Sandhurst Road's Hancock Bridge, which was demolished in January 2016, is back in the news since almost 350+ shop owners & families in Mazgaon Sandhurst Road have been notified that some of the stores will be totally demolished or partly demolished.

These shopkeepers have suffered a business loss since March due to COVID-19, and now, when unlocking occurs, they are informed that they will lose their property without any alternate accommodation / commercial premises, which will highly impact their livelihood and their source of income.

We would request you to sign this petition and support these poor shopkeepers and notify the Maharashtra Government & BMC that, please don't demolish the legitimate shops that have been on the records of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) since 1965-2000. These properties are legal and also they are part of some or other societies, which is also on record of the societies.

Your little support not only helps the shop owners but also their families too.
