Today marks a huge step forward for Alfie's Legacy

Today marks a huge step forward for Alfie's Legacy.

The JCVI has now strongly supported offering the MenB vaccine to young people who were born before the infant vaccination programme began in 2015 the very generation Alfie belonged to.

For so long, we've fought to highlight the unfairness of the "birthdate lottery," where protection against this devastating disease depended simply on when you were born. Today, JCVI has recognised that equity matters.

This recommendation gives me hope. Hope that other families may be spared the heartbreak we live with every single day.

But our fight isn't over yet.

These are recommendations. The Government must now act and implement them, ensuring that no young person is left unprotected because they were born too early to receive the vaccine as a baby.

I want to thank every single person who has signed, shared, written to MPs, supported Alfie's Legacy, and stood beside us. Every signature, every conversation, every act of kindness has helped us reach this point.

Most of all, I think of my beautiful son, Alfie. I wish with every part of me that he was here today. His legacy is creating change, and I couldn't be prouder of him.

Please keep sharing Alfie's Legacy. Let's make sure this recommendation becomes reality.

For Alfie. ❤️
