NYC is one of the smoggiest cities in the nation. 

New York City is known for many things, but having clean air isn’t one of them. The smell of truck exhausts and the sight of smoke plumes rising up from rooftops are all too common experiences for city dwellers. Though it can be easy to take the air we breathe for granted, air pollution poses serious health risks, such as heart disease, lung cancer and asthma. NYC alone has experience over 3,000 premature deaths in 2019 due to fine particular matter and ozone in the air- more than 8 times the numbers of murders that took place this year. 

Improving the quality of NYC air will be no small feat. Legislation aimed at curbing pollutants and greenhouse gases in NECESSARY to protect the health of residents across the country regularly being put at risk by ground level ozone. 

Help us bring this issue to the attention of NYC lawmakers in order to introduce legislation to prevent excess smog production in our city.
