Alexandra Grant-illegal charity grantLOVE 2008-2021 - financial report& legal consequences
The issue
Alexandra Annette Grant, artist in LA, USA, has been presenting herself as a philanthropist and owner of non - profit grantLOVE since 2008 until 2021.
grantLOVE was advertised as supporting arts and the LGBTQIA community.
There were funds raising activities she was involved in, items sold in the name of charity & money were raised for different causes. One example is the Watts House project- funds raised & deliverables have not been made public.
There has never been transparency about the funds raised, nor their destination.
On May 27, 2021, a letter from the Department of Justice, State of California, Rob Bonta, Attorney General, was issued : "Note to register as a professional fundraiser for charitable purposes".
Attorney General Registry Search: https://rct.doj.ca.gov/Verification/Web/Search.aspx?facility=Y ; search key word grantlove
Hence, her entity has been illegal; not registered before.
The actions have not been philanthropic from a legal stand point, nor was there any transparency.
Since many people were involved in the fundraising, it would be good to know what were the legal measures taken against Alexandra Grant's apparent fraudulent activity and what happened to the money that she raised during the years.
What is the amount of money raised and paid taxes?
What is the destination of all the money raised?
Not only that there has been no public report on the destination of the funds gathered in the name of charity, but now, Alexandra Grant is working on a book: " LOVE: A Visual History of the grantLOVE Project: A collection of works from the groundbreaking grantLOVE philanthropic art project".

Relevant information:
1. Restriction order
Because there were several people writing about her fraud online and that have posted public satire images, she stated that she is a victim of a stalker and sued one person for being the owner of several Instagram accounts and for "being stalked". After the trial, there was no conclusion that there was a single person posting information about her online.
There was a restraining order issued against that person.
The accounts continue to post.
The list of accounts is in the restriction order & in the two blogs online, listed below. Also below, two accounts posting information.

2. Tombstone possession & attempt to sell it
Alexandra Grant was in the possession of baby Lena Davis' tombstone for 11 years. She created T-shirts with images of that tombstone, to sell. She tried to sell the tombstone online and listed it on Ebay. She was contacted by Police and informed that this act is unlawful. After this, she decided to take the tombstone to its place. She made a movie about having a tombstone for 11 years & taking it back where it belonged - "Taking Lena home".
WHAT IS NEEDED
It is important that the reports of all the donations made to the so called charity and their destination to be made public, as this entity was, in fact, not registered as a charity.
What are the legal consequences for fundraising & selling items without a declared entity, moreover, under the name of charity for arts & LGBT+ community; charity that did not exist in reality?
Also, this data should be present together with any materials about that entity or connected art works created.
If there is no transparency, there will be a continuation of abuse and lack of moral & legal conduct.
This information can be sent to relevant concerned people, decision makers & press. The implication of each individual is essential for finding out the truth and stopping unlawful practices.
