Hello to all, my name is Alexander Baldeon I am a nursing student at Nova southeastern university. My friends and I are starting a petition in regards to our beloved friend Juan Villalonga. Over the weekend Juan was involved in a devastating incident were he fractured his wrist and had to get immediate surgery. This semester is one of the most important in which we all begin our clinical rotations and learn the fundementals of nursing. He will be in a cast for approximately 4 to 6 weeks but is able to get around fine. It has been brought to our attention that our school wants to keep him behind due to his injury. He is left with zero options at this point and told him “nothing can be done.” In addition to that our schools policy indicates that any student that misses more than 3 days of clinical will be dropped from the course. My friends and myself refuse to believe that nothing can be for him. He has spoken to the dean/director of the program but it seems as though they do not want to help in any possible way. He makes an effort to be here with us to get an education despite his excruciating pain. He is also willing to make up the days even if it’s the weekend. We are all heart broken at the fact that no help is being directed his way. We come together united as a family and ask of you to lend a helping hand and help him get the justice he deserves.
