Minion Feminism

  While watching DM3, I was expecting lots of female Minions to appear in the movie. However, I was disappointed by the fact that there were no female Minions at all. Instead, all of the Minions were male. I just recently talked to a feminist about this problem. Guess what? She said that little kids were getting tired of the same male Minions being used many times. I did research and found out that feminists are speaking out the same problem. Here’s why this problem is happening.  Pierre Coffin started the problem with this statement:

“Seeing how dumb and stupid they often are, I just couldn’t imagine Minions being girls.”

  Reminding fans of the DM franchise, these words have created a dispute against feminists. Feminism not only empowers women, but also gives them equal rights. It is not common to see feminism in the movie industry. Film companies like Universal often display male characters in movies. However, Illumination opposes feminism for its mascots, the Minions. That’s like making a discrimination against women for acting stupid and lazy. Female Minions are like male Minions. They have different personalities and talents, from being fearless to chasing bananas. This is a discouraging, miserable decision that Pierre Coffin made. Even parents realize how Illumination was not paying attention to the messages female Minions play in society.  

  Adding female Minions will not only improve the DM franchise, but will increase the revenue of Illumination. More people will see future DM movies and more companies will market Minions to different audiences. From food to fashion brands, the importance of female Minions will influence women to be powerful and never give up. There are Minion super-fans that feel that adding females will lead up to Illumination’s future success. Pierre Coffin, I would like to see you change your views on the statement you made please. Illumination, please respond to this statement and confirm that you will be creating female Minions.
