**UPDATE** Following on from our meeting with David Crausby MP, he suggested our next step was to contact our Labour Breightmet and Tonge councillors that voted for the Cycle track at the Planning Meeting. We need to ask the question, "Does this have to go ahead?" Even though the planning permission has been granted, it does NOT have to be built. We need to put pressure on our councillors to ask this question to John Byrne and persuade them to try and get the scheme withdrawn/postponed (to allow time to find alternative locations). I feel we need to push the traffic concerns, since the figures for use now are higher than at planning and that the 5m path is not suitable for cars passing and families/children using it as access to the park and facilities! If you could all individually email/write/telephone/approach your ward councillors about this and your reasons, we can keep this topic current within the council.
