Twice As Nice Guaranteed

I think not. ALDI ranks in the lowest tier of the 2021 Mercy For Animals retailer report on welfare standards for chickens raised for meat. A recent investigation uncovered the shocking reality of chickens at a contract farm for one of ALDI’s suppliers . These chickens were in overcrowded, dark, and filthy sheds; surrounded amongst countless birds with open wounds, twisted necks, and prolapses. Not to mention the piles of rotting birds that were left to lay - a REAL nightmare for any animal. 

Twice As Nice Guaranteed?

In this day in age, we as a nation are not ‘WOKE’ about animal welfare. Everything is hidden behind the closed doors of these big corporations that use their ‘positive’ mission statements to mask the true source of their products. It’s misleading to our community. How are we supposed to trust that the food we are purchasing for our well-being is GOOD for our well-being? When these animals are being tortured for our welfare. Oh, yeah our capital welfare.  What’s capitalism without a little animal torture? 

Over 200 of the best food companies have adopted the Better Chicken Commitment, eliminating many of the worst abuses chickens face in supply chains just like ALDI. Therefore, I’m asking ALDI  to adopt the Better Chicken Commitment, the new standard for chicken welfare across the industry. ALDI, we the people, need TWICE your GUARANTEE that you will implement humane animal ethics into your mission statement for the sake of our well-being. 

So ALDI, is that commitment ‘Twiced Guaranteed’?
