Dear Supporter,
It's been 2 years since we started our campaign asking Aldi to commit to eliminating gestation crates in its supply chain within a specified timeframe. We’re not even asking Aldi to allow these animals to get fresh air or sunlight, just minimal decency: let these animals walk around, stretch their legs, and socialize with other pigs.
But unfortunately, Aldi is still OK with gestation crates and refuses to take this minimal step in the more humane treatment of the animals in its supply chain.
As consumers, we need to use our voices and keep asking Aldi to do the right thing for the animals they profit from. Today, we are asking you to use your own personal social media to let Aldi know that gestation crates are not OK. (Please be sure to make this post public so it will show up on Aldi's FB page)

Use your own polite message or see below for some ideas:
- @AldiUSA - it's time to stop allowing gestation crates in your supply chain. Make a firm commitment to phase them out according to a real timeframe. #ALDIFinds
- @AldiUSA allows its suppliers to confine pregnant pigs in gestation crates so small that they cannot even turn around. Aldi's vague animal welfare policy statement—that it expects suppliers to eliminate gestation crates someday—isn't enough. #ALDIFinds
- I believe that grocery chains have a responsibility to ensure the humane treatment of the animals they profit from. When will @AldiUSA finally take a real stand and require its suppliers to end the use of gestation crates within a specific timeframe? #ALDIFinds
Animals shouldn't have to suffer everyday to feed us, and it's on us to push retailers to end inhumane and outdated extreme confinement practices in their supply chains.
Thank for your support over the years,
Crate Free USA
