Dear Supporter,
Over 350k supporters have joined together to tell Aldi that its customers want crate free pork. Sadly, Aldi continues to ignore us and still has not made a public commitment to a timeline to end its use of gestation crates.
Please vocalize your compassion once again, and take just a few minutes to politely reach out to Aldi by writing a post on its Facebook page or sending a Facebook message. If you create a post, it will show up in the "community" section.
IMPORTANT: If you post something on Aldi's Facebook page, please check back a few times to see if your post is still visible. If you can no longer see your post, call Aldi’s Customer Service Line at (800) 325-7894 (option #4/ #1/then 0), Mon-Fri 9 am - 5pm EST and tell them what occurred. (Also, if you post disappears, comment on this petition -- see discussion section below -- and let us know about it).
You can use this script or come up with your own: "There is a Change.org petition with over 350,000 people asking Aldi to commit to ending the use of gestation crates in its pork supply chain. I believe that grocery chains have a responsibility to ensure the humane treatment of the animals. Does Aldi have any plans to REQUIRE its suppliers to end the use of gestation crates within a specific timeframe? I understand that Aldi has a policy that says it "expects" its suppliers to phase out the use of crates, but an "expectation" falls far short of a commitment. An expectation can go on forever. I care about animal welfare!"
Thank you for your continued support.
