More than 330,000 customers have signed our petition to urge Aldi to eliminate gestation crates in their pork supply chain within a specific timeframe. Yet Aldi is still refusing to address our campaign and commit to going 100% crate-free.

Consumer demand helped convince major grocery stores, like Target, Costco, and Kroger, to commit to phasing out this inhumane practice. Let’s make sure Aldi is the next chain to announce a public timeline to eliminate gestation crates.

To launch off March, join Crate Free Illinois in a quick action to let Aldi know customers aren’t letting up in 2020.

Quick Action:

Send Aldi USA an email TODAY to let them know customers want them to go 100% gestation crate-free. Please feel free to use your own message or the copy below to us.customerservice@aldi.us:

“Dear Aldi,

As a customer that deeply cares about animal welfare, I am writing you to get an update on the company’s plans to announce a public timeline to eliminate gestation crates from your pork supply chain.

Last year’s policy update stating that you “EXPECT... suppliers to pursue the elimination of crates for pregnant sows in favor of group housing” is promising … but also EXPECT your customers to keep holding you to higher standards in demanding you REQUIRE suppliers to entirely phase out gestation crates.

Aldi, you claim to pay attention to what customers want to see in your stores. We are telling you we want to see crate free pork.
