Jan 1, 2020

The holidays are over, and 2020 is upon us. And at Crate Free Illinois, we want this to be the last year that Aldi USA refuses to address its cruel pork supply chain.

However, Aldi isn't going to phase out gestation crates as a New Year's resolution. We need customers to turn up the pressure in 2020 to demand a public timeline to eliminate gestation crates.

Let's start the new year by watching and sharing this video—featuring our partner HSUS's Josh Balk as he talks about the cruelty inherent in gestation crates and the progress made by Aldi's competitors to phase them out.

Quick Action:

Share the video with Aldi USA by commenting on their latest Facebook post with the suggested language below:

  • Aldi USA, if you want to give your customers what they want in 2020, your New Year's resolution needs to be a public timeline to phase out gestation crates from your supply chain. #CrateFreeAldi http://bit.ly/CrateFreeAldi
  • Hey Aldi USA, have you seen this video showing the abusive practices still used by your pork suppliers? I won't be a satisfied customer until you commit to a public timeline to phase out the use of cruel gestation crates in your supply chain. #CrateFreeAldi http://bit.ly/CrateFreeAldi
  • Aldi USA, the cruelty featured in this video cannot continue in 2020 if you want to keep your loyal customers satisfied. #CrateFreeAldi http://bit.ly/CrateFreeAldi

Aldi claims it pays attention to what its customers want to see in their stores. Tell them that you want to see crate free pork on their shelves!
