After a push from consumers and animal welfare groups, both Woolworths and Coles Supermarkets have confirmed they will be phasing out the sales of caged eggs in their stores over the next few years- A wonderful victory, which will prevent a great deal of unimaginable suffering. We commend the efforts of these leading supermarkets in taking this step, Aldi, however, continue to endorse this inhumane and brutal practice. 

Most of us know what the term 'caged eggs' entails; beautiful creatures are crammed into tiny cages, unable to stand upright or move around, and exploited for their eggs for the entirety of their lives, before being brutally killed as soon as the farmers (who i am reluctant to consider to be 'humans') deem them no longer 'productive.'

I fail to comprehend that this atrotious form of 'farming' still exsists in our country today. 

We urge Aldi to take the same step that other leading supermarkets are taking, to stop the sales of such unethically sourced products, and immediately remove these eggs from their shelves. 

By signing this petition, i hope that we can bring Aldi to make the compassionate (or common sense) decision to ditch the Caged Eggs from their shelves, and sell only Barn or Free Range eggs in their stores. 

Money should not come before the basic welfare of another living being. 

Aldi, we ask you to stop this cruelty and see such injustice taken off your shelves.
