Chicago Live Poultry is breaking several city laws and is a public health and safety nuisance to many neighboring residents and business owners. In fact, it's very location in proximity to others is a zoning violation which can only be resolved by moving 200 feet away from other residents and businesses (which would be impossible). Slaughter Free Chicago is using its advocacy might to represent them and demand that the City of Chicago enforce its laws and revoke CLP's license.

We have a meeting with Alderman Silverstein on Thursday morning to present our case for closing CLP so we need your signatures no later than Wednesday!

CLP slaughter chickens and other birds as well as rabbits. The conditions in which animals are kept are squalid and miserable! We documented how animals are delivered and unloaded, treated worse than furniture. See video.

In addition, the stench of dead animals constantly permeates the block surrounding it especially by the dumpster behind the building which is only 18 feet from other residents.
