Hey neighbors! Paula and I want to thank you for participating in our fight against LUCHA and their plan to install cellular antennas on their building. Beyond protecting ourselves from constant exposure to potential health risks, we also preserved our hard-won property values. Cellular antennas are PROVEN to decrease nearby property values. Take a minute to reflect on our community victory and pat yourself and each other on the back for participating. We succeeded! Yay! I want to remind you that even after we contacted T-mobile, NTP Wireless, the Alderman, and LUCHA and asked for a community meeting and a discussion, the only response we got from LUCHA was their calling our petition "Trump-style" which is on record and quoted in the DNAinfo article by Mina Bloom*. LUCHA did not engage with the community, they refused to answer our questions or be accountable to the community. I don't know about you, but I find that a community-driven fight against multi-million dollar corporations in an effort to preserve public health & safety and to preserve hard-won property values in a minority community to be exactly the opposite of what I imagine to be "Trump-style." I want to take this opportunity to inform you or remind you that Delia Ramirez, who is running for 4th District IL State House of Representatives, is on the board of LUCHA. My wife and I don't understand how someone who is on the Board of LUCHA and decided to call our grassroots neighborhood petition "Trump-style" and refused to meet with the community would be an appropriate representative of that same community. LUCHA stated "with the overwhelming support of our tenants, staff, board of directors and community..." that they would proceed. Obviously hundreds of LUCHA's closest neighbors are the actual community. We don't even understand what LUCHA and Delia Ramirez mean when they are talking about "community." Do they mean people who don't live here? Do they mean LUCHA residents only? Do they mean corporations? Corporations are people/community, too? What? If you seek someone that will listen to the needs of the community, I suggest you reflect upon the events of 2017 when Delia Ramirez was on the Board of Directors of LUCHA and you look elsewhere. If she is going to represent our "community" just remember the recent past and it is perfectly clear what kind of representation we would get with her as our State Representative. She decided to ignore and disrespect hundreds of homeowners and residents and pushed the LUCHA agenda. I say we push the agenda of homeowners and residents and we exclude her from the possibility of getting elected. Vote for someone else and you will have a better chance of having a voice in this community. Just look at the facts. Voting for Delia Ramirez is voting AGAINST our community. See you at the primaries on March 20th, Kurt Gippert * https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20170315/humboldt-park/humboldt-park-cell-tower-christiana-neighbors-opposition-petition
