According the the Alderman's Facebook page, as of this evening the cellular antenna building permit (# 100681494) has been put on hold. There is no mistake that word of our 250 resident wet-signed petitions has reached him. Hurrah! Except this is no victory, folks. The Alderman has asked LUCHA to hold a community meeting regarding the proposed installation. In response, I have asked a few things. 1) Our coalition chooses a neutral meeting space. 2) The meeting is to occur on a Monday-Thursday evening, preferably at around 7PM. 3) Except for the corporate hacks from NTP wireless and T-Moble and our formal presenter(s), only residents with some form of proof (ID, voter card, gas/electric/property tax/water bill) that they live within 1000 feet of the proposed installation site will be allowed entry into the meeting. 4) Speakers must register for the opportunity to speak. It is expected that the amount of time allowed per speaker will be limited. If we are going to be successful in our campaign, we have to show LUCHA and the Alderman what true overwhelming community support really means. This means that when the time comes, I will be asking you to sacrifice a few hours from your busy schedules to fight for what is right for our community. Remember, every building permit for every project in the 26th Ward crosses Maldonado's desk for his approval or denial. He has the power to stop this from happening to us. We shall continue to send him a strong signal of our own. Thanks again for all of your support. Kurt Gippert
