Our class of 2020 was undoubtedly unforgettable and historic. In order to honor and fulfill class of 2020 I believe we should still have a prom and all our senior activities which have been canceled at this point and we have no news of returning anytime soon. I am not asking for prom or grad bash during COVID-19 is still a pandemic or any time soon but instead believe in the idea that these senior events and important milestones such as Prom Gradbash and a physical graduation should indeed still happen at a later date  in celebration of Class of 2020. Even if that date were in 2021 or 2022 because we as Class of 2020 agree with the idea of keeping people safe and that this pandemic is not slowing down anytime soon but all we are looking for is hope and we should still honor our high school traditions even if a virus has affected our normal procedures and plans for graduation.

My name is Jose Sanchez and i was a senior in Hialeah Senior High School. During my early time in high school i was a shy introverted person who wouldn’t talk to anyone because of my shyness. In late junior year/early senior year was when i started to notice that no one is going to judge you or remember what you said in class that one day. So I have changed my introverted life into one that is extroverted, carefree, more confident, and less shy than before. I didn’t get to experience Homecoming or my Senior Luncheon and I deeply regret not doing so. Which is why as a student who didn’t get to partake in these activities, we shouldn’t let go of our senior activities so easily as to immediately cancel them and take them so lightly. Instead we should rejoice and fight through this pandemic together and have a more positive outlook. Which is why instead of canceling these important milestones such as Prom, Gradbash, and a physical graduation. We should postpone them and give seniors a date when everything has somewhat normalized and back to normal. Also there are some students who have waiting all their life to go to Prom and dance with their prom date and bought their prom suit/dress or Gradbash and ride their favorite rides with their friends or even a physical graduation and walk the stage with their colleagues and family watching them with a tear running down their cheek because their daughter/son has walked across the stage holding a diploma in their hand. I am not asking for much from whoever is in charge whether it be Alberto Carvalho or even our principal from our schools please postpone our senior events which we have been waiting for basically all our life and worked so hard to achieve through the years whether it be through testing or GPA let us seniors gather one last time in celebration for what has happened to our remarkable class!! Go Class of 2020 but most importantly, GOOOO TBREDSS!!
