Czr was taken to Fish Creek Veterinary Clinic for a simple blood test that has left him PERMANENTLY injured and in CONSTANT pain. Czr is an exceptionally well-trained dog; thus, he does not require any restraint. By Dr. Van Sluys own admission (the clinic owner), drawing blood out of the back leg was not novel policy and only performed in extreme cases where the dog is deemed "aggressive." However, Czr is NOT aggressive as evidenced by the plethora of videos on his Instagram page, @teamczr. 

Because of the clinic's policy, Czr was taken to another room without his mom's presence in order to collect blood and urine samples. Czr was returned in grotesque form: a partially torn cruciate ligament on his left side and a dead bottom canine from trauma on his right side. It appears that because of Czr's breed, the personnel stereotyped Czr as aggressive. While pulling and/or yanking on his back leg to draw blood (which was enough to tear his CCL), the personnel also slammed the right side of his face into the ground hard enough to damage the canine. As a result of his injuries, the CCL tore has left Czr with significant arthritis that is permanent. The clinic pressingly told Czr's owner that they were not aware who handled Czr.

Fish Creek Vets has avoided any accountability and have refused to take responsibility for their mistreatment of Czr. In fact, Fish Creek Vets has denied any allegations, as well as their social media pages have blocked @teamczr, disabled their comments with #justiceforczr and other complaints by individuals, and finally has deleted all negative reviews from their social media pages. By doing so, others cannot see the backlash and negative experiences others have had at the clinic, which showcases how the clinic does not practice integrity and true objectivity. 

What's worse, the owner of Fish Creek Vets also serves on the committee of the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA). ABVMA investigates claims of negligence. Because of the conflict of interest, an investigator from the ABVMA deleted the Czr's file out of the Dropbox folder that contained evidence of his visit before dismissing the claim against the clinic. This makes it impossible to prove incompetence or negligence. Furthermore, the clinic's staff have attacked Czr's owner on her social media pages, spreading false information and discrediting Czr's experience at their clinic. 

This petition asks for your support to highlight and share this story to protect other pets from facing similar circumstances. Additionally, ABVMA and Fish Creek Vets need to be held ACCOUNTABLE for their unethical practices at their facilities and committees. Please spread #justiceforczr.
