Hello everyone.
Many thanks to all of you who have signed on with us so far! Our Edmonton Rally is tomorrow afternoon at the Legislature. If you're in the Edmonton Area, please do come and join us. We know of a few families planning to take their kids out of school for the afternoon in order to participate. (It's the last afternoon before Spring break, so what were they going to learn anyway??) :-)
If you are able to join us and would like to put together a few signs, here are a few ideas that resonate with our message:
- A shelter bed is not a home.
- No more mats on the floor
- Helping the homeless helps us all.
- Real help and real support for real people!
- Kids and parents need homes too!
- Get landlords on board!
- Safe and affordable homes everywhere!
- The city has stepped up, where is our province?
- Supportive housing = cheaper and more effective
- Spend money now, save money later!
And of course work in the hashtag, if you can: #AlbertaCares2023
If you are able to drag along a few friends or neighbours, please do that!
What's our message? We want a strong and wise, long-term plan to address housing and homelessness! Feel free to share the link below with anyone who wants to read more about what this is about.
