Hi everyone! This is a just a quick update regarding the federal government's page for the disastrous open-pit mine projects the provincial government wants to push through.
If you have not posted a comment on the federal government's page for the open-pit mine project, you have less than 24 hours to do so. Leaving a comment on the federal page is the most influential method to get the federal government to cancel the project. ALL comments are read and will be taken into account when the government committee decides whether to approve or reject the project.
As such, if you have not left a comment on the federal page yet, please do so as soon as possible. At 4:00 pm tomorrow, the comments section will be closed and no other comments will be accepted. Leaving a comment takes 5 minutes, but your comment might just tip the scales and convince the committee to reject the project.
The link to the federal page is here: https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/proj/80101?wbdisable=true Simply scroll down until you reach the "Submit Comment" button, and follow the instructions provided by the website. The more support we get, the higher chance these projects will be cancelled. As well, you can send an email to iaac.grassymountain.aeic@canada.ca detailing your first name, last name, and comments on the project.
That is all for now. Stay tuned for future updates, and let's continue fighting for our mountains!
