Good evening, everyone! An important new development has arisen regarding the Grassy Mountain Coal Project page on the federal government website, and we thought it would be best to share it with everyone who signed this.
As you all know, this federal government page allows any Canadian to voice their opinion on this project. These opinions are then taken into account by the committee deciding whether to approve or reject the open pit mine, and can convince the committee to reject the project.
Unfortunately, the deadline to post your opinion is January 15th 2021! After this date, you will NOT be able to state your opposition to the mine on the federal government's page. As such, if you have not left a comment on the page, please do so as soon as possible. We would like to reach our goal of having at least 1000 comments protesting this project on the federal page. For the next week or so, you can post a comment at any time you wish. As such, please leave a comment if you have not already.
The link to the federal page is here: https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/proj/80101?wbdisable=true
In other news, the picture shown in this update was taken by one of our members here in Alberta. The beauty of the mountains and surrounding forests really showcase why we should preserve and protect these natural areas for decades to come.
Thank you for supporting our cause. We will update you all later on when other important developments arise.
Until next time,
Concerned Citizens of Alberta's Administrator
