Hi everyone! Recently we have gotten some feedback that we should outline all the different ways to help in a concise update. This would allow everyone who signed to do everything they can to help our petition succeed. We listened, and here are the best ways you can prevent new open pit mines from touching Alberta:
1) Leave a comment saying you are against the projects on the federal government's website (link below). To leave a direct comment, you must visit the website after 4pm on weekdays or at any time on weekends. If you want to leave the comment before 4pm, you can send an email with your comment to IAAC.GrassyMountain.AEIC@canada.ca. The link to the website is: https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/proj/80101?wbdisable=true
2) Send an email to the provincial and federal government. An easy-to-use email generator makes this extremely quick and easy. You can also personalize it if you wish. The link to the generator is here (scroll to the bottom of the website once you have opened it): https://www.endangeredecosystemsalliance.org/news/2020/7/21/stop-open-pit-coal-mining-in-alberta#:~:text=On%20May%2015%2C%202020%20the,province%27s%20Rocky%20Mountains%20and%20foothills
3) Sign the hard-copy petition that will eventually be submitted to Alberta's legislature. The website containing all the relevant information, including the locations of where to sign, is here: https://www.stopcrowsnestmines.org/petition
4) Keep sharing this petition and these tips with everyone you know. As we have said many times before, the more voices, the stronger our cause. So please forward this email so our voices are as strong as possible!
That is all for now. We will send out another update when something else pops up.
