We need a Low- cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Albany, GA
The Issue
Albany GA and surrounding areas need a low-cost spay/neuter clinic to reduce euthanasia rates in local shelters and to help combat the growing feral cat population in this area. We need the support of our local humane societies and Veterinarians to make this happen. Please sign our petition so we have the support needed to bring this issue to our city and county commissioners as well. The cost of spaying and neutering continues to increase while the availability of Veterinarians that offer reduced rates are decreasing, meanwhile animal rescue workers and feral cat colony caretakers are being overwhelmed, unable to adequately TNR (trap/neuter/return) due to cost and lack of access. While the state of GA offers Spay Georgia certificates at reduced rates, there are only two Veterinarians in the two counties that make up the Albany municipal area that accept them and only on limited days. This means a person may have to wait 1-2 months to have their pet spayed or neutered! For TNR of feral populations, this is totally unacceptable. Please help our area obtain this much needed service as it is crucial for the health and welfare of our dogs and cats. Thank you.
