Alan Jackson and I are from the same small hometown in Georgia. I've met him several times and have seen him perform often. He is a good and kind man, which is why I am petitioning him to please follow in the footsteps of so many other talented performers such as Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood and Willie Nelson, just to name a few. Tell Alan Jackson to cancel his SeaWorld show.

Orca whales and other marine life are kept at SeaWorld in small tanks and are taken away from their families and native waters. These animals who are kept in small cages separate from their family members, have a life expectancy in the wild of 30-50 years and at SeaWorld, their lives are often cut short before 9 years. They who normally swim over 100 miles a day in the wild are confined to tanks that barely allow them to circle around.

The film, "Blackfish", has been the catalyst for many performers cancelling their performances at SeaWorld and has led to decreased public support for SeaWorld.

Adding Alan Jackson to this list of performers will not only put him in wonderful company of other compassionate musicians, but will also send a message to SeaWorld that their cruelty will not be tolerated.
