In March this year an 11-year old Tigress and her two cubs were found poisoned to death in Pench Tiger Reserve. In 2016 alone nine tigers have been killed in the Park so far. It is this Park, which is situated in the Seoni Jungle, Madhya Pradesh, India, that inspired Rudyard Kipling to write The Jungle Book.

In April 2016 Walt Disney Studios released their latest adaptation of the book. Since then it has grossed $355,715,511 in worldwide Box Office returns. Profits will continue to grow with TV, DVD & online sales.

Pench Tiger Reserve is an area with high poaching pressure and desperately needs more anti-poaching measures in place.  The funds will go to the Wildlife Protection Society of India (WSPI) to enable them to expand their Secret Information Reward Scheme to cover Pench Tiger Reserve. 

The Jungle Book is a wonderful film, so well crafted and a huge tribute to one of the most imaginative stories ever written. But the sad and real truth is that the jungle habitat of Seoni - which inspired the story - is shrinking, tiger poaching is increasing and the beautiful world where the real Baloo, Bagheera and Kaa live is, as Sher Khan predicted, being destroyed by man. 

Let's help save this jungle and stop benefiting from it's beauty without giving anything back. For if we continue to do this, there will be no jungles left for future Jungle Book's, let alone tigers.
