Alamogordo Public Schools have once again found itself in a situation that is toxic for all the APS members, students, the parents, and the guardians. The community thought that a change in leadership would bring back the pride and integrity that the APS school district used to have. Boy were we wrong. The new leadership Kenneth Moore has only given his deputy superintendents more power to ruin the lives of the teachers, students, and community. That is why we the community is asking for Colleen Tagle and Cara Malone to be removed from the positions they have. Under their leadership, competent leaders and principals have left the district. Under their leadership, outstanding principals like Tina Spitzberg, Ryal McMurray, Alicia Egin, and Sandra Johnson lost their positions by being demoted. After being in the district for many years they were not a good fit as a leader. When they demoted the principals they put their own friends in the positions. They yell and bully those that they don’t like and think it is okay. There are tons of grievances and complaints that have been filed against these leaders, even the new superintendent because of the way they treat their employees. Even in the board meeting, the superintendent yelled at the people who were there. He thought it was okay to yell at everyone in a public forum and he did the same thing to his workers at the high school. Things will only get worse with these people leading the way.

They closed Academy Del Sol. They have been trying to close this school for a long time. This school gave students a chance to do better because they didn’t fit on or do good at the high school. Students who were told they were bad students and would never graduate worked hard at ADS and proved the high school principals and teachers wrong. Now they closed ADS down and moved the students into 1 hallway of the high school. ADS students can’t go into other parts of the school. They cut the teachers down to 3. The teachers were told they are not allowed to teach. They can only monitor students as they get their classes virtually. For lunch ADS students were made to sit outside in the hot sun and eat their lunch. This is not fair to these students. Why do they have to be discriminated against because Ms. Malone and Ms. Tagle don’t care about them? Dr. Moore said he would take care of the situation but nothing has really changed. He only says what everyone wants to hear to make himself look good. None of them intend to change things. They want to make it look like they are here for students but they only do things that will make themselves look good. Bring back ADS. These kids deserve it and need it!

Who do we have that we can talk to about it? They have remove Angie Callwalder from her seat as school board president. If you complain to the superintendent it does no good. The superintendent and Colleen are always together. She does more leading in this district than he does. They were friends in Florida and they are still friends here.

Kenneth Moore was unfortunately given the job by the school board but Colleen and Cara make all of the decisions and choices. He backs their choices with his yelling and unprofessional ways of acting. Their choices have made people’s lives a living nightmare and it will not end. It is their mission to get rid of staff, teachers, administrators, directors, assistants, and that they don’t like and will not bow down to them. We can’t afford to lose any more people. Our students already don’t have teachers to teach all of their classes. My children have substitutes in their classroom instead of teachers. Why? As teachers that have left because of how they were treated. There are teachers that will come back to the school district if they are not here. We need them to step aside so our teachers will come back and give our children the education they need.

These tyrants must be stopped. We are losing good staff everyday and they don’t care. We need to stand up to them and take back our school district and our students education back. I will stand up for my students education. Will you stand with me?
