My name is Jessica I have been a licensed esthetician in the state of Alabama over 20 years. Esthetics has been a wonderful career for me, I have worked in several salons before venturing off and opening my own spa. I’m a master esthetician so it gives me the ability to apprentice 1 student at a time. I want the ability to train more students at one time. After opening my second location I realized the demand for waxing services is increasing by the day. I ONLY offer waxing services so my goal is to create a Waxing certificate recognized by the state of Alabama. Esthetician school focused solely on skin care treatments targeting facials, there is not enough waxing curriculum currently included. Waxing at a professional level needs a huge increase in training for proper preparation by demand. I have already contacted my Alabama state board and by advice i’m creating this petition to draw attention for the need of this specific waxing certification. I have now offered advanced training in Brazilian waxing for several years.
