Say No to Animals in Circus

IN 2007, the UAE stated in Federal Law 16 that animals are to be protected from abuse and negligence. It states that inadequate diet or undernourishment, unsafe transportation, as well as other forms of mistreatment, including scientific experiments, cruelty and sexual abuse, are punishable by law. Unfortunately, circuses continue to perform here in the UAE due to a loophole in the system.
These unfortunate animals that were unlucky enough to be captured by poachers or were born in captivity are subjected to violent and brutal methods to perform on stage. Such methods include shock collars, whips, continuous beating, captivity, incarceration, torture, thirst, starvation, and horror to make the animals perform these elaborate “tricks”.
Some countries have finally realized this. The UK recently outlawed the use of wild animals in circuses starting from 2015. India has just banned dolphinariums.
Other countries, however; are lagging far behind. Elephants, lions, tigers, and others are still paraded around in circuses for “Entertainment”.
Circus animals live in appallingly cramped conditions, cannot exhibit natural behavior and are often subject to brutal treatment. No entertainment is worth such cruelty. Tell the government to keep animals out of the circus because there is no place in a civilized society for the abuse of animals or their manipulation for the purposes of ‘entertainment’.
We hope that we can count on your support and that this outdated practice can quickly be banned in the UAE.
