Al Jazeera owned online news portal AJ+ aired a documentary explaining differences of belief between Shia and our Sunni brothers. It states that "Shia believe Religious leadership must come from the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)'s descendants while Sunnis don't" This is the half truth which is misleading. Shia believe that Islamic caliphate or religious leadership is a Divine position and not a family or political influenced position. WHY is it important to raise this issue? If not negated over a period of time it can become a documented fact and can be used to manipulate our belief. It also raises questions as If Syeds are descendants of Prophet(pbuh) why can't they be chosen as a present Religious leader? Motive of this campaign is not to prove anyone wrong. As everyone has the right to believe in what they choose, but we all have the right to protect our belief. We appreciate disagreements as they pave way for research, knowledge and positive progression, but no one's belief should be misrepresented no matter which ever school of thought they belong to. This is also against ethical journalism and reporting half truth is known as Yellow Journalism. We request anyone who believe in Truth should support this campaign, so important historical facts are not manipulated. We in good faith request Al Jazeera to amend this mistake and state the facts as they are which is part of ethical journalism.
