Now with most of our classes moving online, but colleges are still expecting us to pay full fees. Considering the majority of the student’s families are suffering from the financial crisis, be it job loss/ pay cut.

Below are some suggestions on how to make the situation better for both students and colleges:

1. Since most of the resources we used to get from the college (Books, reading space, Lab Materials, Practicals, workshops) can’t be provided because of lockdown hence, the fees can be reduced. 

2. Asking for the whole amount within a few days is overwhelming and ridiculous. Divide the amount equally through the year hence, giving time to both students and their families. 

3. We support college for the online classes but, if students are compromising with their education by taking online classes, the college should too. 

Making more sense to the context:

●The quality of an online class is terrible compared to that of an actual class. The interaction is 0. Majority of the students who don’t have access to proper internet face a lot of issues with online classes.

●Since we’re not using college space, library, sports utilities even low-key we are the reason college doesn’t even need to pay the electricity bill, they can reduce fees. 

●Majority of the students are from middle-class families and have faced money problem amid corona pandemic. ₹100,000 is no small deal for our us. 

 

We as students need the support of our colleges during these hard times. We student support our college, but also expect the college to have the same mutual feeling.
