On October 26, 2020, Ms. Giulietti was forced to resign her position of teaching Ezine (a required course for all incoming freshman) as well as advanced graphic design after nearly four years of teaching at LASA highschool because AISD would not allow her to continue teaching from home.The Austin Independent School District is requiring all teachers return to campus starting in November and teach in person to students who choose to return, as well as personally checking their temperatures. While many have already returned to campus, Ms. Giulietti was not able to as a family member was severely at risk. Unfortunately AISD only accommodate teachers who only themselves have a doctor's note but will not adjust for teachers who are protecting and taking care of someone in their home or in their family. Ms. Giulietti attempted to create a compromise with the principal, Ms. Crescenzi, but in the end it is only AISD/ the superintendent who has the power to change this:

While Ms. G has already resigned, this petition is intended to change the rules and allow more accommodations for all AISD teachers who cannot return as well as get Ms. Giulietti her job back where she can teach from home. Up until today, she was able to perform her job with perfectly over Zoom and on Blend. She was beloved by her past students who claimed she helped them adjust in freshman year and taught them unforgettable lessons in a fun and engaging way. We have to change this policy so she can return and continue to be a welcoming presence to new and returning students.
