The amount of young women I see get sent to the office due to what they are wearing is honestly very disappointing. AISD claims to want a safe learning environment for all students, but is completely fine with male students staring at the young girls in classes and hallways. It takes away from a young girl's education when you pull her out of class simply because boys can't control themselves. Why blame the wearer when you should really be blaming the observer? It promotes rape culture and sexism, while raising a new generation of people who will believe that if a woman is raped, it is her fault. Instead of continuing to support these ideals, AISD should educate its students about consent and respect. If you don't see the issue, you are the issue.
