As you may know, Diabetes UK is one of the largest funders of diabetes research in the UK, having invested nearly £60 million in the last ten years.
The organisation has recently updated their official position statement regarding travel in light of our campaign and it is now live on their website.

The letters that can be downloaded and printed for users of insulin pumps to take to airport security has been found to be most useful.
I am now in contact with the Head of Global Training at ACI (Airports Council International) as they have promised to raise the matter with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) at the global level so that airport staff all over the world can better understand these medical devices and alternative security screening can be offered.
