We have now welcomed over 2000 supporters to our campaign! The comments posted on our petition page and the 100s of emails I have received reveal indisputable evidence that confusion regarding insulin pumps at airport security is prevalent and a global issue that urgently needs addressing. I have contacted many high profile organisations and they are starting to reply as our message filters through to the correct divisions. These include the National Media, Airport & Aviation Industry, Travel Magazines, Government Departments, Civil Aviation Authority, Transport Select Committee, Airport Operators Association, EU Commissioner for Transport, TSA, European Regions Airline Association and many more, too many to list! We have gained the support of JDRF on their website (https://jdrf.org.uk/news/family-held-security-dubai-airport-two-hours-insulin-pump) and their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/JDRFUK/posts/10153845848199794). I am also now speaking with the Airports Council International (ACI) which is the only global representative of the world’s airports. ACI takes an active role in informing regulatory authorities of the impact of new security rules, helping to shape those rules and ensuring that changes in security are communicated to airport authorities. I will keep you all updated on progress on our Facebook page but in the meantime, PLEASE keep signing and sharing: https://www.change.org/p/airport-authorities-standard-policy-for-insulin-pumps-at-airport-security RACHEL HUMPHREY
