It's exactly a year ago, on 1st Nov 2019 that I landed in New York and discovered that my precious Sitar was broken badly by Air India. Subsequently, there was extensive media coverage and a huge amount of support that I received from all parts of the world. Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sonal Mansingh even brought attention to it in the Rajya Sabha. I met the Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation, Mr Pradeep Singh Kharola end of February 2019 and he assured me that he would personally look into the matter.

Then Corona struck and the whole world suffered. This was a boon in disguise for Air India since they could now hide behind the virus and did not have to deal with 'trivial' issues when they had 'bigger' issues to take care of. Of course as any sensitive person would do, I too did not contact them for the initial few months but now, almost everything has resumed here in India. Shouldn't I expect Air India to honour its commitment? Just because there was a pandemic, does it absolve Air India from its responsibilities? Yes--there are some sensitive issues that need their attention but that should not stop them from ensuring that justice is served.

I have tried to contact Mr Kharola ever since but there has been no response from him. My calls, messages and emails have gone unanswered.

Should I assume that Air India does not want to take this case to it's logical conclusion which is to compensate me for my loss.
