We booked a flight from Dubai to Jaipur on 9th February, 2020 through Cleartrip.com. The flight was for Air India Express IX-196. The flight was scheduled to depart on 3rd April,2020.

The lockdown was imposed on 24th March, 2020. As per instructions some airlines have given full refund for the flights cancelled due to the lockdown. But Air India Express has not given full refunds. The Airline is offering reschedule or penalty for cancellation.

The cancellation was done due to the pandemic and their is no sign as to when it is going to end. Hence rescheduling the flight is not a viable option. As per the recent article in newspaper the airline is supposed to give a full refund.

The cost of the ticket was Rs. 20357 

Airline Cancellation Charge: Rs. 11,976.50
Cleartrip Cancellation Charge: Rs. 1,298.00
Convenience Fee: Rs. 1,480.00

Refund is Rs. 5,602.00.

The Percentage of cancellation charge applied by airline and cleartrip was huge. Moreover Convenience fees has also been added. All these charges are being taken despite of cancellation done by the airlines.

If we would not have requested for cancellation then no refund would be given by airline or cleartrip. 

Hence we should get a full refund or refund amount more than 75% of the total cost.

If this Petition is approved then all the passengers including us would get some relief in these times.
