Due to the current situation with the heatwave around the UK right now, a lot of schools have had to close due to no air conditioning in schools. Air conditioning needs to be made compulsory in every school so all children feel safe, relaxed and comfortable in their environment without suffering any form of heat stroke and dehydration. 

With the current heatwave, we have seen schools close across the UK close due to the fact that their schools are unable to provide a cool environment for kids to learn and study. Summers in the UK are getting warmer and action needs to be taken now.

It is cruel to put young people in this position. Despite the Met Office issuing red warnings for the extreme heat, ministers are advising schools to remain open even though that there are reports that temperatures will reach 40 degrees celsius. 

I am calling for the Department of Education to keep children safe in schools by investing in getting all schools air conditioning. Children deserve to study in a place where they feel safe and cared for.
