The Issue

The Wauwatosa School District has banned many things over the last two years, most of which has boded over well with the student body. However, something that doesn’t sit right with me and many other students is the unfair standard that AI is held to within our district. Students are forbidden and failed if AI is present in assignments and projects, yet the teachers and staff are regularly allowed to use AI in surveys, art work, etc. Sign this petition if you’d like to equal out the standards for AI within the Wauwatosa School District.

“Piper and all signatories, Thank you all for reaching out to me on this topic. It should be noted that I speak only for myself and not for the board. Like you all seem to be, I am very troubled at the impact that AI is having on our society as a whole. More specifically, your petition raises an interesting point that I will need to have additional conversations with Superintendent Means, and I know that the Policy Committee will need time to do their work before bringing any formal suggestions to the board. Thanks for raising an interesting point. I do not know what will result of this petition nor do I know a timeline at this point, but I am happy to have the conversation. Yours in Volunteerism, Chris Bauer Wauwatosa School District [Note: The Change.org Civic Engagement Team reaches out to decision makers to let them know about petitions in their community and to help facilitate engagement with supporters. The above was an email response we received regarding this petition.]”
