Against Isis evil: a “Sorry” is not enough #notenough
Il problema
“I've been speaking three times to the United Nations. Someone cried, everyone clapped. They told me "sorry", and then "goodbye".
These are the words of Vian Dakhil, Yazidi member of Parliament who first launched the alarm denouncing the sexual enslavement of thousands of Yazide girls and boys by the “Isis”, as reported in an article on La 27esima Ora, Corriere della Sera.
We learn that:
Sexual slavery is a practice institutionalized for a year now: there is not just a bureaucracy of rape (the markets where girls are sold, price lists, purchase contracts "notarized" by Islamic courts), but also a theology of rape. Last October, the weekly of Isis “Dabiq” explain ed how it is legitimate to treat Yazide women as "Khums", spoils of war. Last month the "Fatwa Department" of Isis explained that "it is allowed to have sexual intercourse even if the girl has not yet reached puberty".
We ask to the High representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and to the foreign ministers of all member countries to address the Council for Human Rights of the United Nations and the UN Security Council a public appeal to intervene in support the Yazidi people against what is a genocide, a real war rape, a crime against humanity.
A "Sorry" is not enough.
