Luna's Petition... Against Goverment contribution to euthanize a healthy bully dog

Luna's Petition... Against Goverment contribution to euthanize a healthy bully dog
The Issue
It is the saddest time we are in, where the goverment are willing for a healthy dog, to be euthanised.. offering owners £200 to do so.
This breed, even though strong should not be labelled or generalised as being naturally aggressive, or considered dangerous as a standard . Any dog can be aggressive if raised, untrained or provoked to be, many to a dangerous extent. It does not mean the breed must then be labelled or considered dangerous as a whole. This breed has existed for a long time without being considered dangerous to society. Why should the lives of dogs be taken as an added option, for the sake of convenience, political gain, or due to public pressure.
It isnt realised by the general public how dangerously behaved dogs are treated and abused, violently dealt with, to bring them to that level of aggression. This breed is loyal beyond comparison and will behave how they feel theyre expected to behave if raised and conditioned to do so, as would countless other breeds.
These dogs, are like our children, part of our familes,.. and even if an owner takes the decision to have their dogs killed instead of taking the steps required to protect them, this should not be allowed to happen, with the support of goverment funding. It is understood that we as dog owners, not only of a bully breed, but as dog owners, should be responsible for the care, protection and behaviour of our dogs. We should be held responsible and to account, for our dogs actions, and be made to face the consequences, not our dogs. Having legislation that requires us as owners to adhere to responsible standards is fair, and should be in place, especially when considering strong breeds. But, to fund and give the option to euthanise a healthy dog, is despicable, inhumane and wrong. That opportunity or choice should not be given to any individual to sacrifice their dogs life for convenience. Those dogs may well grow to be the best of family companions and society friendly dogs, with loving, gentle and affectionate temperaments, worthy of being loved and given the opportunity to live full lives.
Our girl is called Luna, and she loves her family, loves people, any and every other dog, and just loves being alive and enjoying life. Not only because she is naturally that way, but because she is loved and adored by her own, and anyone who meets her. She makes our lives happier and fulfilled, in a way only she could.
Legislation ensuring responsibility and accountability as owners of our dogs, especially of a strong breed...is acceptable and understood...killing a healthy dog, or being given the option to, isnt.
If this is the precedent that is set, and we are given the choice to have our dog euthanised for convenience, even funded to do so, where as a nation of dog lovers, have we reached.. and what kind of goverment do we have that provides the means to do this.
