It has been shown, and proven, that elephants should not live in a climate with harsh winters. In this case, it is Cambridge, Ontario, which is west of Toronto. The zoo offers elephant rides, make them do tricks, breed and sell to other zoos/ circuses. They also employ the use of the vicious bullhook. 

They need to be transferred to a place of love, freedom, and protection. The wonderful sanctuaries in Tennessee and California, would both provide excellent environments. Their current indoor areas are not suitable for the brutal winters that they have to endure. 

The elephants are dealing with several issues , which involve psychological and physical problems. They are physically abused in many ways, including the horrific, medieval bullhook, which is extremely painful. Being forced to do tricks and perform as if in a circus, is painful and degrading.

Their lives are not only completely void of happiness, human torture, and protection, their environment doesn't allow them the freedom to roam like in their true habitat. The sanctuaries provide those needs.

Their lives are being seriously compromised,  in terms of longevity, because the activities they are forced into, are very demanding and that causes their lives to be shortened. 

Let's give them the lives they truly deserve, and end this extreme abuse and cruelty.
